Local at Heart is hosting a Fireworks Event at the Ulster County Fairgrounds, New Paltz on July 4, 2026.

T-Shirt Design Contest

Ulster County residents are invited to submit a single design. A selection committee with choose 2-3 designs to print on the front of the T-Shirts that will be for sale on the day of the event.

This event is intended as a non-political, community-focused celebration. We invite artists to reflect on shared experiences, everyday moments, and the ways people come together–especially through generosity, food, and care for neighbors.

Submission Deadline

Artwork submissions due by March 15, 2026. Submissions are free.

Design Considerations

Designs should avoid political parties, elected officials, slogans, or imagery tied to current political movements. The focus should remain on community, celebration, and unity.

Artwork should be suitable for a family-friendly audience.
Designs must be original work created by the submitting artist.
Submissions should translate well to a T-shirt format (clear imagery, readable text, limited fine detail).
Artwork should be no more than 4 colors. The colors in the design must be able to separate for silkscreening. Vector (ai, eps or pdf) artwork is preferred, but we can accept a layered psd (Photoshop) file as well. Please submit artwork with no background.
Artwork must be high resolution (300dpi).
Finished designs will fill a 12″ x 12″ space.
